Phone Calls and Emergencies:
If you have a true
emergency, it is best to call 911, or to go to the nearest emergency room
where the physician on duty will begin treatment and call me.
If urgent problems, please call the office for instructions. If it is
after hours or on weekends, please call the same office number. It will be
transferred to our answering service, and they will take your number and locate
me or the allergist on call, and I, or they, will return your call as soon as
possible. The answering service is always available for urgent calls, 24 hours a
day, seven days a week, all year, if the office is closed.
For non-urgent matters or for prescription refills, we ask that
you plan ahead and call during office hours.
The answering service cannot
forward those types of calls to us. We ask that you allow 24 hours for
prescriptions refills to be called in. If you are overdue for, or have missed a
scheduled appointment, we will ask you to make an appointment and see me before
we can refill medication.
Please call the office if you have
any questions regarding your condition, medication or treatment.
My
assistants are specifically trained to answer your questions, arrange
prescription refills, etc. If you need to speak to me personally, I will return
your call the same day, when conditions permit. Many diseases have similar
symptoms, so if you developed a complication or a new problem, please understand
there may be a need for a re-examination in the office.
