The Allergy Asthma and Clinical immunology Specialty of medicine is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and even non-allergic disorders affecting the nose, eyes, lungs and skin, such as seasonal (hay fever) and perennial allergies, asthma, eczema, hives, food allergy, stinging insect (including fire ant) allergy, latex allergy, drug allergy, and even contact dermatitis (i.e., poison ivy). It also address the immune system, including the evaluation and treatment of various immunodeficiency disorders, both inherited and acquired.
